The highly anticipated anime film, 'Ghost – end of night', directed by Shingo Natsume and produced by Madhouse, has unveiled a teaser trailer, revealing the main cast members. The film, set in a near-future society where labor is no longer necessary, follows the story of Neekei, a girl who seeks the "real" while resisting the order of a content society. The cast includes Mayu Hotta as Neekei and Issei Takahashi as Masu. The film is set to open in Japan on February 11, 2027. Bandai Namco Filmworks describes the film as an exploration of what is "real" in a society where labor is no longer necessary. Shingo Natsume, known for his work on ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept., One-Punch Man, and Space Dandy, is both directing the anime and penning the script. Manga creator Natsume Ono, known for ACCA 13-Territory Inspection Department and Ristorante Paradiso, is in charge of the original character designs. The film's theme song will be performed by the alternative rock band hitsujibungaku, and they will also perform the insert song "Sugar." This marks Shingo Natsume's first time directing an original anime film. He aims to create a work that is "fictional but in tune with our current time and seeks realism." The film has a manga adaptation by artist himiko, which launched in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine on August 4. The project is distributed by Bandai Namco Filmworks, and the film is set to be a thought-provoking exploration of what it means to be "real" in a society where labor is no longer necessary.
